1. What kinds of volunteering opportunities do you offer?

    • Our goal is to connect members with opportunities that build their experiences in the healthcare and related fields, and enhance values of service, leadership and philanthropy. We offer clinical events, such as community health fairs and screenings, as well as opportunities that increase awareness of social issues and communities within the DFW area, such as feeding the homeless or working with kids with disabilities. Our volunteering opportunities include one-time events, as well as programs that run for one or two semesters, allowing volunteers to build relationships with the people they are serving.

  2. How am I awarded for my volunteering hours?

    • We aspire for members to grow their passion for service through our program, rather than simply collect volunteer hours, which is why we try to offer a range of opportunities for members. However, we do incentivize members through awarding MD points. For in-person events, this is 1 point/hour, and for virtual events and book club/round tables, 2 points/hour. This is subject to discretion, based on spaces available and volunteers needed.

  3. How can I sign up for volunteering opportunities?
    • We will send a Google interest form to you through or email, or a SignUp Genius form, which you can access on our website.
  4. How do you choose volunteers for events?

    • Our selection process is entirely random, and each member who has paid their dues has a fair chance of being selected. However, if you feel that you have been signing up frequently but have not been selected, please email us and we will address your concerns.

  5. Can I volunteer if I don’t have transportation?

    • Yes, as long as someone offers to drive, we will do our best to offer you transportation. Drivers receive extra MD points for providing other volunteers a ride.
