Radha Upadhyaya, FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE CHAIR
Radha is a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry and hoping to minor in Latin American Studies. She plans on going to medical school to pursue Emergency Medicine or Gynecology. Or maybe Psychiatry since she is really passionate about mental health and neurological disorders. She’s not really sure :) She has prior experience scribing in the emergency departments at Medical City Plano and Medical City Dallas which really helped to solidify her career choice to be a physician. She joined the Molding Doctors Fundraising Committee as a freshman and loved the feeling of doing good for the community. She is also a mentor through the Freshman Mentor Program and is a Gujarati language teacher which she does “for the culture”. Additionally, she has volunteered for organizations such as Colorful World Foundation, American Heart Association, Salvation Army, and Sandwiches for Stewpot. In her free time she loves exploring the Dallas-Fort Worth area with her friends and attempting to cook.

Based on the success of the Spring 2017 fundraising project, Molding Doctors expanded its mission to involve global and local philanthropy. These collective interests gave roots to the fundraising committee.
For the academic year of 2019-2020, Kevin Pazhoor was appointed as Chair, and Surbhi Banubakode was appointed as Vice-Chair.
After a round of written applications and interviews, an official committee for the 2019-2020 year has been formed based on the evaluation of the applicants involvement and enthusiasm for the mission of Molding Doctors. The committee members will assist in the planning and execution of major fundraising projects.
The committee’s mission is:
“To strive to inspire service, global philanthropy, and compassion in future physicians.”
In addition to fundraising for a wide variety of causes, both local and international, the goal for this committee is to give members the opportunity to have a level of personal attachment to the cause. Therefore, members volunteer firsthand to benefit the causes that they fundraise for, becoming both primary and secondary contributors towards the philanthropic effort.
